Modern Kitchen Update

A couple still loved the size and layout of their Chesterfield, MO home, but their tastes had changed from traditional to contemporary, and they wanted a new look.

To give an old home a new look doesn’t always require changing floorplans or square footage. Remodeling can be as simple as updating surfaces and adding new accessories. With the guidance of Mosby designer Dean Vitale, the clients refreshed their home with a more modern look.

The first step was installing hardwood throughout the first floor for a seamless flow of spaces. Next was transforming the powder room with all new fixtures, lighting and paint. And then there’s this refreshed kitchen. The layout remains basically the same, and the existing cabinets are painted dove grey and milky white. Brushed nickel drawer pulls and knobs complete the new look. A linen-colored onyx countertop and a backsplash of glass and metal mosaic tile add sparkle. Add stainless steel appliances, and the contemporary kitchen now reflects the owners’ warm and enthusiastic personalities.
