Ultraviolet and Jewel Tones Take On the New Year

by | Design & Remodeling, Miscellaneous

With Pantone announcing ultraviolet as the color for 2018, our Mosby designers share how this color and jewel tones will be the design trends in the new year. Whether kitchen, bath, master suite or room addition, here are a few insights to inspire your remodeling projects in the new year.

 Accents and Accessories with Ultraviolet

A great way to incorporate ultraviolet tones into your design is through accents and accessories. Both modern and traditional styles can showcase this color hue in their homes. According to Designer Amy Shaw, “Throughout history purple has symbolized royalty, mystical surrounding, or creativity.  Adding this rich jewel tone to your decor either with small touches or a focal wall will help inspire and energize those who gather there.”

Razzle Dazzle the New Year with Hot Reds and Bold Blues

“Oceanside Blue” and “Caliente Red” are two jewel tones that will truly dazzle in 2018. Beach blues go to a deeper and richer hue with these new color palettes. With Scandinvaian blue and other Danish blues, Julie Giljum, Right Bath Coordinator at Mosby, added, “With all sorts of grey being so popular for the past few years and still going, there is no surprise that blue is going to be popular.  Between the calming affect with muted blues for the bedroom and bathrooms and then vibrate blues for creativity, intelligence and confidence, this can be used in wall color, accessories, and tile.”
