A New Custom Bathroom for the Newlyweds
With this master bathroom remodel, the clients wanted a new look that catered to their needs, and truly make it their own. Styled with a classic feel, this beautiful new master bathroom was designed with ease of use, style and comfort for this newly married couple.
Making It Their Own
The master bathroom was designed with timeless elements to create a serene atmosphere. As newlyweds, the current bathroom layout was not functional for them, and they did not get much use out of the existing garden tub. Plus, the current shower was not ideal for ease of use either.
BEFORE
A Combination of Comfort & Class
By removing the tub and relocating the shower, Laura Powderly, Mosby Designer, AKBD, CAPS, created a floor plan to achieve their needs for this space. The new walk-in shower was designed to incorporate a unique shape, which includes a shower seat and shower niche. The remodel also included new cabinetry, a new linen closet for storage, plumbing fixtures, accessories and lighting. Plus, new tile on the walls and floors.
A major design element for this bathroom remodel was carrying the tile as a wainscot around the bathroom from the shower to the vanity. Using a porcelain, stone-look tile on the walls and floor, the tile was used in three different sizes to give dimension while achieving the best function for the areas installed. To create impact with this tiled look and the walk-in shower, the design incorporated the maximum amount of countertops while maintaining the proper walkway clearance and ample room in the shower.
