Exterior Remodeling Designer

Reports To: RK&B Business Manager

Job Purpose: To support the success of MBA by collaborating with the client through the planning process, developing unique and innovative exterior remodeling solutions, and preparing clear and accurate construction documents.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Meet with clients to determine their needs, wants, and investment levels for exterior remodeling projects
  • Create accurate Existing Condition Drawings, Design Concept Drawings, Work Scopes, and other construction documents needed using Chief Architect and Right Touch (CRM)
  • Collaborate with Estimators, Engineers, Architects, Mosby Sales Consultants, and Project Managers to create successful projects
  • Provide superior customer service & build relationships to internal and external customers
  • Develop new skills and knowledge and utilize technology to fulfill responsibilities
  • Maintain knowledge of products and keep up to date on current construction technology, building products, and trends in the industry
  • Participate in tradeshows, seminars, & other events as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education in Interior Design or Architecture
  • 3 years of experience in exterior residential design (ex. porches, patios, siding, etc.)
  • 2 years of experience working one on one with clients to determine their design needs, budget, material selections, and executing sales contracts
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and CAD Programs (Chief Architect program is a plus)
  • Excellent organization, communication, and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage several projects at a time
  • Capability to perform duties in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner
    Prior working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
  • Have & maintain clean, reliable transportation to use for client appointments around the St. Louis Metro and Southern Illinois areas
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Ability to talk and hear; see and work on a computer and sit for extended periods of time, walk, kneel, bend, work with your hands, and move up to 30 lbs. independently
