Condo With A Forest Park View

Downsizing to a smaller home and easier lifestyle can be an equally exciting and difficult time for homeowners as they become empty nesters. Homes that at one point seemed barely large enough to fit a bustling family, may now seem unnecessarily large for just one or two people.  Such was the case for our clients who decided to move from a sprawling suburban Creve Coeur estate to a 13-year-old condo in the Central West End. Their new condo sits high atop the Central West End and has fantastic views of Forest Park.  The 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom condo was the perfect spot for them to settle into their new empty nest lifestyle.

Condominium Remodel: Minimalistic & Contemporary

Our clients are minimalistic at heart and have a contemporary aesthetic, as well as an extensive art collection filled with many beautiful pieces they have collected over the years. The condo needed quite a bit of work to bring it to the level the couple desired, so they called on Mosby Building Arts to create their dream space. Mosby Consultant Rich Oris and Designer Jill Worobec built a friendship with the couple and were able to execute their home remodel to their vision and style.

To achieve the couple’s dream kitchen remodel, the kitchen was completely gutted and redesigned with modern WoodMode cabinets. The upper cabinets have painted backs with glass fronts, and the lower cabinets are Rift Cut Veneer. The sleek Cambria countertops highlight a stunning Wolf stove, along with a Julien galley undermount chef sink. The striking glass backsplash may look familiar to you if you’ve ever been to the 9/11 museum. The homeowner fell in love with the unique design while visiting New York City and wanted to use an exact match in her kitchen. This kitchen also features stacked Wolf ovens and a Sub-Zero refrigerator. The sparkling flooring is 24” x 24” large-format porcelain tile with a straight set.

The guest bathroom remodel displays a walnut floating vanity, with Cambria countertops and exaggerated stained glass tiles.  The master bathroom oasis is well-appointed with his and her sinks, Cambria countertops and colorful glass tiles on the vanity wall as well as in the shower.

Much thought was put into how to effectively light the space. The condo units in this particular building are surrounded on top and bottom with concrete, which is highly problematic when trying to run electric for lighting. Mosby Designer Jill Worobec used her out-of-the-box creativity to design a suspended backlit ceiling element. Not only did this allow for overhead lighting throughout, but it created an amazing visual focal point in the main living space. The walls also received special treatment, as custom spots were created to showcase the unique and colorful art collection.

Exceeding client expectations is a Mosby given, and this project was no exception. Jill Worobec agreed that this condo remodel was one of her favorites to design and the clients couldn’t be happier with their new condo oasis high above Forest Park.
