Modern Semi-Custom Kitchen Remodel

Taking inspiration from a photo, Right Kitchen by Mosby transformed this semi-custom modern kitchen remodel into a sleek, modern kitchen by mixing metals and a pop of color. The clients wanted to keep their kitchen clean and modern, but threw in classic accents to keep with the age of the home. Incorporating creative space-saving solutions, such as a new coffee bar, this St. Louis south-city home was able to maximize on both space and style for their new modern kitchen.

Mixing Metals of Gold with a Pop of Navy

Bringing the photo to life, Right Kitchen Designer, Jenn Lewis, took elements of the clean and crisp look of white for the modern, semi-custom remodel. The clients loved white subway tile, but didn’t want to have it lay in the brick pattern, so she chose to lay the 3′ x 6′ backsplash tile in a herringbone pattern. With Right Kitchen, the clients were able to choose the pre-selected curated finishes and accessories to give them the modern style they wanted.

With a pop of navy for the island, the clients also loved the idea of mixing the metal finishes, featured on stainless appliances with brushed gold.  Not only did the design elements play with different cabinet colors, such as white on perimeter vs navy blue on the island, but also incorporated a marble-look quartz on the perimeter with a walnut butcher block top on the island.

The client’s favorite addition to their kitchen is the coffee bar located by their microwave.  Before they had a space that only housed two coffee pots, but Jenn designed a wider space as a coffee bar, which shows that there is definitely a way to maximize storage in a small kitchen.
